Passive correction

The patient is individually fitted with a brace which is manufactured in-house. The brace helps in holding the spine in a corrected position and aids the body to maintain normal posture thus leading to maximum curve reduction. Ideally it is to be worn for maximum hours of the day for best effect.

Various types of braces have been tried and tested in the treatment of scoliosis. Most common are

The Boston brace which is prescribed for correcting curves in the lumbar or thoraco-lumbar part of the spine. It is designed to keep the lumbar area of the body in a flexed position by pushing the abdomen in and flattening the posterior lumbar contour.

The SpineCor brace is a Dynamic Corrective Brace which provides stabilization or even correction of Idiopathic Scoliosis. It allows normal body movement and growth.

The  Chêneau  brace  is for obtaining a three-dimensional   correction of the scoliotic deformity, with emphasis on the coronal, transverse and the sagittal planes. It is worn comfortably under loose fitting clothes.

WCR brace The Wood Cheneau Rigo (WCR) brace is a thermoplastic brace designed to treat scoliosis conservatively while taking into consideration that scoliosis is a three-dimensional deformity.

Our brace is manufactured after study of various bracing techniques and considering their suitability for tropical climates. We have made some changes in the making of the brace to suit the Asian weather conditions.
